DISCOVER THE MAGIC OF THE SINAI DESERT WITH HER TRIBE

Venture into the breathtaking vastness of the Sinai Desert, where silence and simplicity come together to return you to the essence of yourself. During this unique desert trip you live in the rhythm of nature, surrounded by the vast landscape and the deep peace that this place offers. Here the noise of everyday life fades, making it easier for you to connect with yourself and your environment.

Simplicity and space are central. We travel and eat together, there is always room for you to be alone, read, walk or simply reflect. This is your time to slow down, return to the simplicity of life, and to connect with your deeper core.

Whether you are already connected to your inner voice or perhaps struggling to manifest your vision, or are simply looking for peace and clarity, this journey offers you the time, space and guidance to delve deeper into yourself. During this tour you will not only travel through the desert, but also through the layers of yourself.

This women’s journey is guided by Maxine Vogt, co-founder of HER TRIBE, and Debra Hempel from Live the Bedouin Life. The retreat is being held for the second time, following a successful previous edition in collaboration with Linda Lugtenborg Baaddi.

Linda Lugtenborg Baaddi guides personal transformation using techniques such as breathwork and meditation. She always tunes into your unique needs and intentions. She invites you to begin each day with a guided breathing session.

Maxine Vogt has already accompanied several times as a guide on the desert trips, she also has a lot of experience with guiding groups and with her presence she will create a safe space to get close to yourself.

As we start our trip, we discuss your needs together and set an intention for journey. During the tour we will check in regularly to delve deeper into your process. Every day we start or end with a joint breathing session, to let go of what no longer serves and make room for new energy.

This special women’s trip offers you the opportunity to live in nature with a close-knit group, under the starry sky of the new moon, cared for by the Bedouins.

What to expect:

During this six-day tour you will trek through the impressive desert on foot and by camel, covering between 10 and 15 kilometers every day. You will be guided by experienced Bedouins and three Dutch-speaking guides: Linda Lugtenborg Baaddi, Maxine Vogt and Debra Hempel.

DAY PROGRAM

Day 1: Arrival in the desert
After arriving in Sinai you will be welcomed by the Bedouins and our guides. We start quietly with an introduction and an intention session. The camp is ready upon your arrival, so you can quietly prepare your sleeping place and sit down for dinner by the campfire under the stars.

Day 2-4: Deeper into the desert
Every morning starts early with cleaning up the sleeping place and a breakfast with coffee, tea and freshly baked bread. While the camels are being saddled, you can enjoy a fresh breakfast of coffee & tea. We travel through the desert in silence as much as possible and cover about 10 to 15 kilometers every day. After a lunch break there is room for rest, reflection and personal guidance. In the evening we prepare our sleeping place and end the day with stories, music and tea around the campfire.

Day 5: Mount Catherine
Mount Catherine, locally known as Gabal Katrîne, is the highest mountain in Egypt, standing at 2,629 meters. This impressive mountain is located near the town of Saint Catherine, in the southern part of Sinai.

A Mountain with a Story
According to Christian tradition, the body of Saint Catherine of Alexandria was carried to this mountain by angels after her martyrdom. A chapel was built at the summit in 1905 in her memory. There is also a small meteorological station, which is still in use today.

A Unique Experience
Mount Catherine not only offers breathtaking views and deep spiritual heritage, but also a unique opportunity to walk in the footsteps of ancient civilisations. Whether you come for the nature, the history, or the serenity of the mountains, this place will leave no one untouched.

Day 6: Return to the coast

After our last breakfast in the desert we continue towards the coast. We reach Nuweiba beach and enjoy a well-deserved moment of rest on the Gulf of Aqaba. Here we end the journey with a festive circle and a final communal meal at sunset, to share and celebrate the experiences of the journey under the open starry sky.
